Google Photos to stop auto-backup media files from WhatsApp, Instagram

Google Photos will stop auto-backup of images and videos from platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, among others to save internet resources. To turn the auto-backup on, users will have to toggle it on for specific apps or run manual backups on specific folders, Google said. However, the move isn't permanent and was rolled out due to surge in image sharing.
