Google releases thousands of deepfake videos to improve detection

Google on Tuesday released thousands of deepfake videos to help researchers develop more accurate detection techniques. The videos were released in collaboration with Jigsaw, a technology incubator created by Google. The tech giant said it worked directly with actors for over a year to create a series of such videos. Facebook and Microsoft have also taken initiatives to fight deepfakes.
