Google removes 8 fake cryptocurrency mining apps from Play Store

Google has removed eight fake mobile apps from its Play Store that were masquerading as cryptocurrency cloud mining applications, according to security firm Trend Micro. The apps tricked victims into watching ads and paying for subscription services that had an average monthly fee of $15. The apps even tricked victims into paying for increased mining capabilities without any returns.
