Google retiring Assistant on Android on Sept 4, moves to Gemini

Google is officially discontinuing Google Assistant on Android devices after 10 years of service, replacing it with Gemini on September 4. In emails forwarded to users, Google confirmed Assistant will be phased out across Android phones, Wear OS smartwatches, paired headphones and Android Auto over a few weeks. For cars with Google built-in, Assistant will continue functioning beyond September 4.
