Google's ex-engineer charged with espionage in US over AI theft

Linwei Ding, a former Google engineer, has been charged with economic espionage in the US for allegedly stealing Google's AI trade secrets to benefit China. Ding, who was arrested last year, secretly affiliated himself with two Chinese companies while still being employed with Google, officials said. He was initially indicted on four counts of theft of trade secrets.
