Google slashes 7 R&D projects, asks employees to find new jobs internally by Jan: Report

Google has slashed seven out of 14 experimental projects at its in-house R&D division called Area 120, TechCrunch reported. This comes amid Google's move to control spending and focus on projects that build on its "deep investment" in AI, a spokesperson stated. Affected employees will reportedly need to find new jobs within Google by January 2023 or lose their jobs.
