Google teases mysterious 'Android Halo', says 'It's coming later this year'

During Google's I/O 2026 event, the company teased a new feature called 'Android Halo', which it said will give users "at-a-glance visibility into what your agent is working on at any given time". Google said Android Halo will show the agent's progress at the top of the phone screen. It'll work with Gemini Spark and be available later this year.
