Google to fix bug storing full-quality iPhone pics for free

Google has confirmed that images on iPhones were getting free and unlimited original quality backup to Google Photos and said will fix the "bug". Usually, saving images to Photos in original quality uses up the free 15 GB storage limit in users' Google accounts. However, the iPhone's HEIC image format, which is already compressed, bypasses compression by Photos during backup.
