Google to pay at least 4 months salary as severance pay to fired US staff

Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that the company will offer fired employees in the US a severance package starting at four months salary. In addition, the employees will get two weeks of salary for every additional year at the company, bonuses and remaining vacation time. On Friday, Pichai informed employees that Google will reduce its workforce by cutting 12,000 roles.
