Google to restrict Android apps that use too much memory

Google is tightening rules for memory-hungry Android apps as device makers face growing RAM constraints. The firm has asked developers to follow new Play Store memory limits to address hardware restrictions and Android's broader memory limits. First introduced with Android 17 on Pixel phones, rules will expand to more devices, while apps exceeding limits could be slowed down or terminated.
