Gopichand mortgaged his home to open Badminton academy

Shuttler PV Sindhu's coach Pullela Gopichand had to mortgage his family home to start the Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad. The academy has trained notable badminton players, including Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu, and Srikanth Kidambi. Gopichand is one of the only two Indians to win the All England Open Badminton Championship, the oldest tournament in the sport.
