Got death threats after being cast as Snape in Harry Potter: Paapa

Actor Paapa Essiedu revealed that he received racially-charged death threats after being cast as 'Snape' in the 'Harry Potter' TV adaptation. He said, "I've been told, 'Quit or I'll murder you'," adding that people mustn't encounter this for doing their job. However, he added, "The idea that a kid like me can see themselves represented in that world? That's motivation."
