Government-backed BharatGen to be part of global AI consortium

BharatGen, India's multilingual foundation model company, will lead the country's participation in Project Tapestry, a global effort to develop frontier AI models. Developed by an IIT Bombay-led consortium, BharatGen is backed by over ₹900 crore under the IndiaAI Mission. It aims to build population-scale AI capabilities across 22 Indian languages for sectors including healthcare and finance.
