Government never asked for Urjit Patel's resignation: Arun Jaitley

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday said the government never sought the resignation of Urjit Patel as the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Jaitley added the government does not need a single penny from the central bank's capital reserves during the current fiscal. After Patel's resignation, the government appointed veteran bureaucrat Shaktikanta Das as RBI Governor.
