Govt acting as 'Robin Hood' by protecting small merchants: Paytm CEO on MDR

Paytm founder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma said the government is acting as 'Robin Hood' by keeping UPI free for small merchants and common users. "[MDR] is a long-pending issue that everyone knew would eventually see some charge come in," he added. Sharma's remarks came as the government imposed 0.4% MDR on UPI P2M transactions worth over ₹2,000.
