Govt again extends CBI chief Praveen Sood’s tenure by one year

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director Praveen Sood received a one-year extension on Wednesday, days before his retirement was due on May 24. He had also been granted a one-year extension in May last year. Sood, a 1986-batch IPS officer from Karnataka cadre, took over as CBI Director in 2023. Before joining, he served as Karnataka's Director General of Police.
