Govt allows China-linked power equipment firms to bid for projects

Government allowed four Chinese power equipment manufacturers with factories in India to participate in government tenders ‌for critical power projects, Reuters reported, citing a government order. The power ministry had ​sought this exemption in January. The exemption would be valid for two years from the ⁠date ​of issuance and won't be treated as a precedent for other companies, order said.
