Govt allows licence-free use of lower 6 GHz band for faster Wi-Fi

Government notified de-licensing of the lower portion (5925-6425 MHz) of the 6 GHz spectrum band to accelerate the rollout of next-generation Wi-Fi and local area networks. This will offer higher speeds, lower latency and better performance for streaming, gaming, video calls and connected devices. The move comes around six months after government declared its intent to de-license such frequencies.
