Govt announces 5 schemes for textile and handloom sector after India-EU FTA

In the Union Budget 2026, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced an integrated programme with five key schemes to boost textile and handloom sector after India's FTA with EU. These include National Fibre Scheme, Textile Expansion and Employment Scheme, National Handloom and Handicrafts Programme, TEX-ECO initiative and SAMARTH 2.0. The government will also set up mega textile parks.
