Presenting the Union Budget 2026 in Parliament, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced a new rule-based, automated scheme aimed at easing compliance for small taxpayers. Under the scheme, a rule-based automated process will enable small taxpayers to obtain a lower or nil deduction certificate instead of filing an application with the assessing officer.
