Govt approves ₹10,000-15,000 cr additional fertiliser subsidy amid West Asia crisis: Reports
The Finance Ministry has approved an additional ₹10,000-15,000 crore fertiliser subsidy requirement for the June quarter (ahead of Kharif sowing season), multiple reports said. This comes as the government has not increased fertiliser prices for farmers despite rising import costs due to the West Asis crisis. Earlier, PM Narendra Modi had urged farmers to reduce fertiliser usage by 50%.
