The government has notified the provisions of the Constitution Amendment Act that allows for setting up the GST Council, which will come into effect from Monday. The council has to be set up within 60 days of its notification. Chaired by the Finance Minister, the Council will decide on key issues relating to the indirect tax regime, including tax rate.
