A Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare committee has approved the registration of India's first homegrown insecticide 'Pioxaniliprole'. A 20% w/v suspension concentrate (SC) formulation of 'Pioxaniliprole' has been approved for use across varieties of rice, chilli, tomato and bengal gram crops and some pests. The insecticide is expected to reach farmers as 'Pioxazon' in next few months.
