Govt asks Google to shut hundreds of Firebase accounts over scams

Indian government ordered Google to shut down hundreds of accounts on its Firebase web development platform after detecting a pattern of criminal misuse. Scammers created phishing pages that impersonated major banks including SBI, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank and lured victims with credit card offers. At least 57 websites and databases were asked to be taken down in August alone.
