Govt asks IITs to reduce difficulty of JEE as seats go empty

The Centre has asked IITs to reduce the difficulty level of JEE (Advanced) in an attempt to stop seats from being left vacant. Adding that the outcome this year was poor, officials said the test was "far beyond the capability of students". The IITs were forced to lower the cut-off this year after it looked like 1,000 seats remain vacant.
