Govt bans 14 'cocktail' drugs mainly used to treat cold & cough
The government has banned the manufacture, sale and distribution of 14 'cocktail' or fixed-dose combination (FDC) medicines which contain two or more active drugs. An expert committee found that there is no therapeutic justification for these medicines and may involve risk to human beings, the notification said. The banned medicines are mainly used to treat cold, cough and respiratory infections.
