Govt body bans sale of variants of Old Monk, Bagpiper, Royal Challenge over artificial flavours

Food regulator FSSAI has barred the sale of certain variants of Old Monk, Antiquity Blue Whisky, Royal Challenge Whisky and Bagpiper Deluxe Whisky among others. Tests found their manufacturers used external artificial or nature-identical flavours to achieve the taste and aroma of alcoholic beverages instead of relying on natural ingredients and proper maturation processes in certain variants.
