Govt caps air fares as prices shoot up amid IndiGo crisis, issues directive
The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has issued a directive to airlines to curb "opportunistic pricing" and "ensure fair and reasonable fares across all affected routes". This came as air fares skyrocketed after IndiGo cancelled hundreds of flights. "These (fare) caps will remain in force until the situation fully stabilises...The Ministry will continue to closely monitor fare levels," it said.
