Govt eases QC norms for compressor imports till March 2027

DPIIT has allowed air-conditioner and refrigeration equipment makers to import limited quantities of certain compressors without mandatory Quality Control Order (QCO) compliance until March 31, 2027. Imports will be capped at their FY25 levels, with shipments beyond those limits required to meet full QCO norms. Compressors affect product life, energy efficiency and safety.
