Govt employees seek pay commission every 5 years instead of 10: Report

Employee unions are urging the 8th Pay Commission to reduce the gap between two pay commissions from ten years to five years, India Today reported. Shiva Gopal Mishra, National Council (Joint Consultative Machinery) Secretary (Staff Side), said the current 10-year cycle no longer matches today’s inflation and wage realities. Unions want the commission to recommend this update to the government.
