Govt extends duty relief for electronics, lithium-ion battery manufacturing till 2029

The Centre has extended customs duty concessions on machinery and components used in electronics manufacturing, including lithium-ion batteries, display modules and smartphone parts, until March 31, 2029. The list of machinery eligible for concessional duty on lithium-ion battery manufacturing has been expanded to cover 85 types of equipment. The move aims to cut import costs.
