Govt gives Armed Forces emergency purchase powers of up to ₹40,000cr: Reports

Central government has given the Indian Armed Forces emergency powers to purchase arms and ammunition worth up to ₹40,000 crore, amid the ongoing Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, reports said. Emergency Procurement powers were reportedly granted by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh-led council. Forces are focusing on buying surveillance and Kamikaze drones, missiles, rockets, etc, reports added.
