Govt identifies 20 indigenous sovereign AI model proposals under IndiaAI Mission

The government has identified 20 indigenous sovereign AI model proposals under the IndiaAI Mission, including 12 Large Language Models (LLMs) and eight Small Language Models (SLMs). In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the mission is aimed at creating jobs for youth. He added that India's AI strategy builds on the country's IT sector.
