Govt launches pilot bio-bitumen technology project

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated India's first bio-bitumen-based National Highway stretch on NH-44 in Mansar, Nagpur. The initiative, undertaken in collaboration with NHAI, CSIR-CRRI and Oriental is aimed at reducing dependence on bitumen imports. The section of the road was developed using lignin-based bio-bitumen technology by Praj Industries.
