Govt may allow automatic approval for small foreign investments: ET

The government is reviewing Press Note 3 and could introduce a 'de minimis' limit to allow automatic approvals for small foreign investments, the ET reported. Introduced in 2020, Press Note 3 makes prior government approval mandatory for foreign direct investment from bordering countries. A final decision will be taken after examining all concerns, including security issues.
