Govt officials using WhatsApp's made-in-India alternative 'Sandes': Report

The government is experimenting with a made-in-India and more secure alternative of messaging app WhatsApp, called 'Sandes', Business Standard reported. The app's usage is said to be restricted to government officials for now. The messaging app reportedly has the look and feel of WhatsApp and an apparent website for the app lists sign-in methods like Sandes OTP and Sandes Web.
