Govt opposes nicotine and tar level disclosure on cigarette packs in Kerala High Court

Defending its decision not to mandate disclosure of nicotine and tar content on cigarette packets, the Centre told Kerala HC that such information could mislead smokers into believing some tobacco products are safer than others. Images accompanied by health warnings on cigarette packs are more effective, it added. The government was responding to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL).
