Govt orders provisional assessment of Chinese herbicide imports

Revenue department has directed customs authorities to provisionally assess Chinese herbicide imports pending a DGTR anti-absorption review. Authorities suspect Chinese exporters are absorbing anti-dumping duties to dilute their impact. Importers will continue paying existing anti-dumping duty but must also furnish financial guarantees to cover any additional duty imposed after review concludes.
