Govt planning to ban sale of loose cigarettes soon: Reports

The government is reportedly looking to impose a ban on the sale of loose cigarettes after the Standing Committee of Parliament recommended steps to reduce the use of tobacco products. Among various other recommendations, the Committee has suggested restricting the sale of single cigarettes, reports said. The government had banned e-cigarettes at the Health Ministry's recommendations in 2019.
