Govt plans ₹99,700 crore fund to boost domestic chipmaking: Report

Government is planning to launch $10.8-billion (nearly ₹99,700 crore) fund aimed at boosting domestic chipmaking, Bloomberg reported. The fund will be used to encourage companies and provide subsidies to build chip factories, develop semiconductor technology, and strengthen the local chip supply chain. The fund, which is under discussion, is likely to be launched in two or three months.
