According to media reports, the government plans to unveil a software that would enable it to monitor all the financial transactions that require a PAN number. It will reportedly help the government to effectively track the "black money trail". The digital platform would be called the Income Tax Business Application-Permanent Account Number (ITBA-PAN) and is currently in the testing phase.
