Govt plans ₹20,000 cr aid to oil firms hit by rising costs: Report
Government is planning to pay around ₹20,000 crore to the state-run fuel retailers to compensate them for losses and keep a check on cooking gas prices, a report quoting people familiar with the matter said. Oil Ministry has reportedly sought a ₹28,000 crore-compensation, but the Finance Ministry is agreeing for only ₹20,000-crore. The talks are reportedly at an advanced stage.
