Govt proposes CCTV monitoring for scheduled drugs at pharmacies

The government has proposed tighter rules for Schedule H, H1 and X drugs, including CCTV surveillance at medical stores. The draft amendment to the Drugs Rules, 1945 aims to curb unauthorised sales without valid prescriptions, improve transparency, and strengthen monitoring across the pharmaceutical supply chain. Stakeholder feedback has been invited.
