Govt reimposes export tax on diesel at ₹21.5/litre & aviation turbine fuel at ₹29.5/litre

The Centre reimposed a windfall tax on diesel exports at ₹21.5/litre and on aviation turbine fuel at ₹29.5/litre, as per a government order. "This will ensure adequate availability of these products for domestic consumption," Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said. This comes as the Middle East war disrupted global oil supply. They will be imposed, considering an exception for some countries.
