Govt relaxes 5G radiation limits to help operators expand coverage with reduced costs: Report

Government has relaxed electromagnetic field (EMF) limits for mobile networks, bringing India’s norms in line with global standards, Economic Times reported. The revised rules, effective next month, will raise permitted power density for 5G base stations to 10 watts per square metre from 5 watts. This could allow operators to cover larger areas with fewer towers and reduce expansion costs.
