Govt renames Mid-Day Meal Scheme to PM Poshan Scheme, to spend ₹1.31 lakh cr in 5 yrs

The National Programme for Mid-Day Meal in Schools, popularly known as Mid-Day Meal Scheme, has been renamed as the 'National Scheme for PM Poshan in Schools'. The scheme will run for five years and ₹1.31 lakh crore will be spent. Under the scheme, mid-day meal will be provided to students of more than 11.2 lakh government and government-aided schools.
