Govt responds as jet fuel jumps by ₹1.1 lakh/kl, says 'Only ₹15/litre hike for domestic routes'

The government clarified after Indian Oil updated jet fuel prices on its website, marking a ₹1.10 lakh/kl jump to ₹2.07 lakh/kl. "To insulate domestic travel costs from substantial increase in international [oil] prices, PSU OMCs...passed only a partial...increase of 25% (₹15/litre or ₹15,000/kl) to airlines," the government said. Foreign routes will pay the full increase in ATF prices, it added.
