Govt responds to plans to reduce petrol & diesel prices in India

Petroleum Ministry responded to a Parliament question on whether it plans to reduce petrol and diesel prices, in line with a fall in international prices, saying that OMCs make market-influenced pricing decisions. It further compared fuel price hikes in major developed and neighbouring countries over the last five years. It also noted that OMCs have suffered losses amid Iran war.
