Govt rules out delay for India-made cells for solar projects rule

Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has ruled out a blanket extension on the mandate requiring solar power projects to use solar cells made in India from June 2026. The government said the decision is aimed at supporting local solar manufacturing. Some delayed projects may be given extra time on a case-by-case basis to protect investments prior to the mandate.
