Govt seeks consensus on sending FCRA Amendment Bill to JPC

The Centre is seeking consensus on referring the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, to a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) amid Opposition resistance. Reports said the government has heard concerns from political parties, Church representatives and NGOs. The Congress and TMC oppose the move, while discussions with other parties, including DMK, are ongoing, reports added.
